John Wesley lived in a day not unlike our own, when famous apostates rose up to challenge the truths of the gospel, and The Sum of All True Religion is highly relevant for the twenty-first century. Wesley describes how Jesus shows the only way to heaven, and how He refutes all the wrong thinking concerning salvation and holy living which would ever arise in the Church itself— the mistakes, errors and even heresies that may apply in every generation. Wesley describes this as “the whole plan… the sum of all true religion.” Here is a refreshing, unwavering declaration of the Way, Truth and Life in Wesley’s characteristically methodical style.
