Wesleyan - Arminian / Holiness

Although converted in a Baptist church, educated at Oberlin College and Yale university, and a lifelong member of the predominantly-Calvinistic Congregational Church, AM Hills was widely known for his theological espousal of the Methodist doctrine of Entire Sanctification. A collection of addresses he delivered in the Salvation Army’s renowned Star Hall in England, The Cleansing Baptism is a prime example of his pulpit style. In this rare book—it was originally published in England—he demonstrates how all creeds of Christianity recognize the presence of sin in the heart of the converted. But he emphatically declares that it need not be so. The death of Christ has provided for a clean heart as surely as for a converted heart. This is a gem from the holiness Congregationalist who knew the great Charles Finney personally.
