In the stress of today’s hectic times, those who minister in the Word have exceptional emotional and spiritual needs. In Sacred Moments for Ministers, John Wesley, Samuel Chadwick, A.M. Hills, Adam Clarke, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Finney and many more great preacher/authors come to care for these unique needs. Pastor’s wife Diane Truitt compiles topical scripture for each day of the year, then follows with extracts from a renowned author of the past. Quotations are included from notables such as Oswald Chambers, George Muller, John Fletcher, E.M. Bounds—too many to list here. Readers will find encouraging or enlightening subjects such as prayer in tight places; motivating church members; life’s storms; the power of small things; wise ministry; altar work; dealing with defeat; unction; remain, or move on to the next pastorate; small churches; absent members; service and rewards; how to get results; and a host of other themes. This is a volume to turn to for quick encouragement, solace and strengthening.
