I Will Arise Biblical Characters who Arose from Failure to Spiritual Victory By, Lloyd D. Grimm, Jr. In Rev. Grimm’s words, “This is not to promote, accept or expect defeat while fighting the ‘good fight of faith’ but to encourage any who have fallen in battle to take courage…” Drawing on examples from the Bible, he discusses the causes of spiritual failure. He addresses timely topics that are still relevant in the twenty-first century: Peter’s overconfidence and its results; the calamities that followed King David’s adulterous gaze; Miriam’s jealousy and her terrible punishment; the outcome of Jonah’s insubordination… But this is not simply a recounting of failures and consequences. Here are the great examples of God’s redeeming grace at work in those whose foot slipped. It is a book of hope and encouragement, urging those who find themselves face down in the spiritual mud to get up and throw themselves at the feet of the One who forgives and restores.
